Welcome to Foodie Pinoy. We’re going to cook Filipino version of Clam soup or Halaan in tagalog. We can call this Halaan Fantastic, Flavor Boombastic! This is a simple yet very flavorful dish and also affordable.

Here are the ingredients.
- 1 kg clams or halaan
- Pechay or bok choy
- 1 medium size onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 thumb size ginger
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 500mL water
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Clean the clams by soaking in water for 3-5 hours. The clams will naturally spit out the sands that they have collected.
- Heat the pan and put some oil. Saute the garlic, onion and ginger. Add the clams.
- Pour in the water. Cover and let it boil for 2 min. The clams will start to open and it means that they are cooked.
- Add the pechay. Season with salt and pepper. Add a bit of sugar just to enhance the taste. Cover and let it boil for another 2 mins.
