Adobong Pusit is a simple and savory Filipino recipe that is commonly prepared for lunch. This is very easy to cook and requires less cooking time due to fact that squid cooks fast. Watch our cooking instruction on how to prepare this Filipino recipe.

  • 1 medium size onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large tomato seeds removed and chopped
  • 2 pcs green chili cut in two
  • 500 kg pusit clean and cut into rings
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • pepper and salt to taste


  1. Clean the squid and remove the cartilage. Cut into rings with around half inch thickness.

  2. Put oil in the pan, once hot enough saute the garlic and onion.

  3. Add the squid and let it cook for 1-2mins.

  4. Add the tomato. Give it a few stir. 

  5. Add the soy sauce and vinegar then season with pepper

  6. Cover and simmer the squid in medium heat for 15 mins.

  7. After 15 mins, add the chili. Let it cook for another 5 mins. 

  8. Give it a taste to check if it needs more seasoning. Add a bit of sugar to adjust the saltiness.
