Filipino Style Spaghetti

Every once in a while Filipinos love to cook this style of Spaghetti . A sweet colorful and fun filled spaghetti that is loved both by kids and adults. in contrast with the Italian style, Filipino style has this sweet feeling that comes from its main ingredient the banana ketchup.

  • 500 grams spaghetti noodles
  • 500 grams beef minced
  • 6 pcs hotdog
  • 500 grams Spaghetti Sauce Filipino Style
  • 1 cup banana catsup
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper


  1. First cook the spaghetti noodles according to package instructions
  2. While waiting for the noodles to cook, we can start to prepare the sauce
  3. Put some oil the pan and fry the hotdogs until it turned brown
  4. Set aside the hotdogs we combine this with the sauce later
  5. In the same pan, saute the garlic followed by the onion
  6. drain the water from the spaghetti

  7. Going back to our sauce, add the minced beef and let it cook for about 5-6 mins
  8. As you can see, the beef released a lot of oil, turn off the heat and discard the excess oil by scooping it out of the pan
  9. After removing excess oil, turn on the heat in low to medium setting then add the Filipino Style spaghetti sauce and banana catsup
  10. Mix well the 1 cup of water

  11. Add the sugar mix again. Set the heat to low, cover the pan and simmer the sauce for 30 mins to release the flavour
  12. After simmering the sauce, add the hotdogs and mix.
  13. Then season with pepper and salt to enhance the taste.
  14. The last step is to combine the noodles and sauce. Mix thoroughly to ensure the sauce is equally distributed
