on this episode of Foodie Pinoy, were going to cook a seafood dish. Pan fried stuffed Squid! Let’s start!
Pan Fried Squid
- 2 pcs Large Squid drained
- 1 medium Onion minced
- 1 medium Tomato Chopped
Stuffing the Squid
Combine the onion and tomato then add a bit of salt to taste. Give it a mix to distribute the salt equally.
Before stuffing the squid, remove first the cartilage or the plastic like thing inside the squid. That’s it, no need to remove the innards and ink because it adds flavour to the dish.
Stuffed the onion and tomato inside the squid until they are almost full.
Then generously rub salt to the body of the squid. Set aside for around 5 mins and this is ready for frying.
Frying the squid
Put some oil in a pan then slowly place the squid and just let it sear. Take note that were going to fry the squid in high heat. The squid will release a lot of liquid and we want to reduce the liquid quickly therefore high heat is a must.
As the squid cooks, it also releases the ink inside, and it has a lot of flavour. Let the squid absorb back the flavour by giving it a few mix.
Continue to cook in high heat until the liquid is reduced and the squid turned brown and a bit crusty.
Remove from the pan and serve immediately.
