Leche Flan is a Filipino dessert that is usually serve during occasions such as parties and fiesta. It is made up of egg and milk with caramel on top. It resembles a rich and creamy texture that you will definitely love! Conventional way of making leche flan is to use the egg yolk only. But we do not want any food wastage so in this recipe, whole egg was use. Nevertheless, it is still rich and creamy! Watch the video below for detailed instructions. Enjoy!

  • 1/8 cup of white sugar for each llanera
  • 1/2 tbsp of water for each llanera

Whole Egg Leche Flan Mixture

  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 can condensed milk 300mL
  • 1 can evaporated milk 370mL
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  1. First were going to make the caramel. 

  2. Place 1/8 cup of white sugar and 1/2 tbsp of water in the llanera.

  3. Heat the sugar in the sugar in the stove top using low heat. The sugar will start to melt and turn brown. 

  4. Once the sugar is bubbling. Swirl the llanera to evenly distribute the heat. Be careful not to burn the sugar.

  5. Once the caramel is done, set aside. Prepare the flan mixture. 

  6. In a bowl, crack 5 eggs, add condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla. 

  7. Whisk until there are no white streaks. 

  8. Strain the mixture 5-6 times to remove the bubbles. 

  9. Cover the llanera with foil or plastic (tighten with rubber band). 

  10. Steam in low heat for 45 mins. 

  11. Use toothpick to check if the leche flan is cooked. Once the toothpick comes out clean the leche flan is cooked. Otherwise continue to steam for another 10-15mins. 

  12. Chill overnight then serve. Enjoy!
